GM Hummer 3 - H3

While skilfully retaining the classical proportions of the GM Hummer 1 and GM Hummer 2, the GM Hummer 3 manages to be a much more compact car – even more suitable for busy urban environments than its predecessors. It is clear that this car is intended just as much for city use as for off-road driving escapades; an effort from GM to attract a new group of drivers that need small and more convenient cars for everyday use. This convenience naturally requires certain sacrifices, and some consumers will probably prefer the chunky Hummer 1 and Hummer 2 to the sleek Hummer 3.

When you take a look inside a GM Hummer 3 you are greeted by a series of new features, including a rugged shifter handle that can be folded all the way forward. On the dashboard, there is a compass, an inclinometer and an altimeter that will come in handy during your off-road trips. The toggle switches have been true to the ancestry of the Hummers and are clearly inspired by military vehicles. It comes as no surprise that these switches are ideal for rough terrains.

The GM Hummer 3 is equipped with an integrated winch, tow hooks, skid plates for the control arm and rear axel, and a carbon fibre belly pan. There are also skid plates in the front and the rear – all stamped out of aluminium. The car has naturally been fitted with head and tail lamps capable of surviving even extremely harsh conditions and GM chose LED lamps for the head as well as for the tail.

Thanks to a collaborative project between GM designers and Nike, the seats of the GM Hummer 3 are made from technical leather and Nike’s special Sphere fabric. If you are a fan of Nike apparel, you have probably encountered Sphere before – it is famous for its ability to keep you cool in warm conditions and warm in cool temperatures. The teamwork between GM and Nike has resulted in a very sporty and functional Hummer with a lot of athletic features – including the handy backpacks that are clammed to each seat. The entire colour scheme of the GM Hummer 3 is also inspired by athletic wear and the interior is orange, petrol, paprika and chamois, while the exterior sports petrol blue metallic shades and a satin titanium alloy.
